Ice Skating With New Friends

Well, I haven't done this in awhile. But I thought I would give you a little update.

When I first started at ISU I didn't like it that much. I thought the work was pretty hard and I also thought that maybe people didn't like me. But after a couple of months people started to hang out with and do stuff with me. I felt like I was being accepted at my new school. At first I was hanging out with the Mongolian girls. They were the first ones who wanted to to spend time with me! My Mongolian friends are friendly and a lot of fun to be around! Now, I hang out with all of the girls in my class and they are from all over the world. I have friends from Mongolia, Germany, Wales, India and Norway! How cool is that? When I was in the States I couldn't imagine having so many friends from so many different places.

Last week I went ice skating with two Mongolian friends and my German friend. The Mongolians made an ice-skating rink right across the street from my apartment. We went the other night for about an hour and it only cost about 50 cents (that's 600 Mongolian Toogrugs). After ice skating we were all freezing, so we went to Pizza King for pizza. It was a fun day with my friends. Now I look forward to going to school on Mondays because I love hanging out with all of my friends from all over the world.

Hi Cori, Glad to hear you're having fun with your friends and are enjoying ice skating! Did you take ice skates with you? I hope your Mom and brother are feeling better soon, we're praying God will restore their health and keep all of you free from sickness. We miss you, great pictures.

Hey Cori! You look great up on the skates! I would be sitting on my bum the whole time! :) Hope to see you in a couple weeks at the prayer retreat!

It's about time we heard from the youngest! You look so cute! I miss you! I'm praying that you and Jonathan will be able to settle in well and be as at home there as you were here. Neither place is perfect (ie, I don't have an ice skating rink outside MY apartment!!!!=) so jealous! ) Thankfully the benefit of both places is God's presence! Enjoy Him today! I will too!

you look good on those skates. You will be doing all kind of tricks before long. I liked to ice skate when I was in memphis going to college. You will be spinning skating backwards and all kinds of things. Just don.t fall and break a bone. Ha. grandad

I have always been a skater and love it. Good to see the ability to balance on a thin blade to steel srns in the family. Next it will be the olympics!

Hey, Cori,
I saw this px of you before, but this is the first that I read your blog. (I don't get on the internet much). Anyway, SO GLAD that you're enjoying the ice skating. I grew up in Ohio, so I started skating at about age 8. LOVED it!! Never actually had my own skates until my 16th birthday (always used hand-me-downs). I'll never forget my new skates -- they were a beige leather, with brown fur around the top. I spent many hundreds of hours on the ice in those skates. Even had some dates with Mr. Darren at good old St. Paul Bible College with them!
I loved reading your blog. Your family is on my daily prayer list, and you're on there twice (also with the S.S. kids), so I know the Lord is watching over you there. Love you much!!!

OMG, Cori way to go u looked great on those skates! yea its not fair u have a ice skatting ring out side ur house and it only cost 50 cents i can't imagine how cheap every thing else there is. well
